Anne Bonny

(Poem)

1700
Bahamas

Anne Bonny was a courageous soul
A girl who had no fear
She could severely maim a man
And never shed a tear

She left her husband at
Age 17 to join a pirate crew
Sailing off with Blackbeard and
Calico Jack to name a few

She looted and she stole
With all the other men
Hiding her womanly figure
By dressing just like them

In 1720 an army set out,
The pirates were overpowered
Only Anne Bonny stood up and fought
Even the captain proved a coward

But although she was imprisoned
And death was the demand
It was found that she was pregnant
And thus escaped death's hand.
